Is Odysseus a hero?

The answer to this question is extremely easy. Of course Odysseus is a hero for these reasons: He saved himself and his crew from the cyclops with his wit, and he regained the thrown with the help of his son. Odysseus and his crew wondered into a cave that happened to be owned by a giant cyclops. After the cyclops killed one of the men the only person who didnt panic was Odysseus. He saved the day by using his intteligence. Odysseus' return to Ithaca was like a hero's welcome. He and his son took back the thrown by killing the suitors. For these reasons Odysseus is obviously a hero.

Is Telemichus a hero?

There are a lot of arguments to whether or not Telemichus son of Odysseus is a hero. In my opinion he is for these simple reasons: He never gave up on his father when he didnt return home, He risked his own life to save his fathers, and he did everything he could to keep his father as king of Ithaca. The suitors all got together to discuss who would be king after Odysseus didnt return from The trojan war. He asked for a ship to sail around the mediteranean in search of him. He set sail with the help of the goddess Athena. When Odysseus finally returned Telemechus didnt believe that it was him. But after he did, he did everything he could to help his father regain the thrown. Telemechus and his father killed all the suitors. For these reasons I believe that Telemechus is a hero.
